Tim’s race

Tim’s race has finished. He has hobbled across the finish line and is now running with Jesus in heaven.

Yesterday afternoon, Tim began to be less and less responsive. Heading into the evening, there was very little response at all. Our PCA, Joalle, was just heading out to the car at 10:00 pm. Tim began breathing irregularly so I quick had Joalle come back in. She came back in and agreed that something significant was happening. She offered to stay for a little while longer.

Over the next 45 minutes, Tim would go through cycles of normal breathing and times where there would be long pauses in his breathing. Finally at about 10:45, he finished his race.

He is now running and jumping and dancing with Jesus. I am so thankful that he was able to be at home as was his wish. He fought this disease with an amount of dignity and grace that I know I never could have had. And in the end, he WON!!

  1. Thank you Jesus for taking Tim home. Many prayers have been answered. As difficult as this journey has been and as hard as life will be without him Barb, remember, this is a temporary separatiion. Tim got his reward early, but some day we will all be with Him and there will be no more sorrow, no more tears and no more pain. Praise the Lord again and again for His promise. Our love and prayers and hugs and support are here for you. Linda & Mark

    1. Joalle has been such a blessing to your family. How wonderful that she was with you to support you for Tim’s last breaths. I pray that through all of this that she can see God’s love and want that for her and her son!
Now the battle begins for the boys. With as much preparation that they have had they are going to need God to intervene on a daily basis. I will be in prayer for them that he will comfort them , each in their own way.

  2. I think that you and Tim have both shown a lot of strength, courage and dignity through this long difficult journey. In some ways it must seem like you began the grieving process when you first got the diagnosis…. It is amazing to think that he is experiencing heaven right now… how awe inspiring that must be for him. Will pray for those precious young men of yours.

  3. Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us. I, too, was a classmate of Tim’s. He was a wonderful person and we were blessed to have him. Even if it was for a short time. Eventually, we’ll all celebrate together with our Father, Lord and Savior…Jesus Christ.
